Nakshatras Course & 2 Upcoming Eclipses

9/6/2022

Hey everyone,

Hope everyone is enjoying the nice tailwind from the Jupiter / Saturn co-influence! This newsletter will go through a couple of eclipses coming up in late October / early November, but first, I wanted to briefly plug my newly released Nakshatras course module :)

If you’ve received a reading from me (thank you!), you’ll know how much I rely on the Nakshatras when making predictions. The Nakshatras are the 27 Vedic lunar constellations, and have references dating back to at least 7000 BCE. Studying these constellations is like peering into a truly different and wonderful world. The archetypal stories and symbols contained within these stars connect us with a civilization that existed when the ice was still thawing from the last ice age, and despite their antiquity, they still beautifully describe our modern lives. A working knowledge of the Nakshatras is what makes an astrologer a Vedic astrologer, and is essential for any serious Jyotishi. The course will bring depth to your understanding of the Nakshatras, and also by using many example charts, will demonstrate how to use these magnificent constellations in your readings.

And in addition to budding astrologers, this course is suitable for everyone - the vast majority of the course describes the stories and symbols contained within the Nakshatras, something that can be enjoyed by anyone who wants to delve deeper into the gods and goddesses of the Vedic civilization. Eclipses

Okay so now, onto the eclipses! In general, eclipses are not a good time to start something new, but are really useful for spiritual endeavors. This is true especially for the 3 days before and after the eclipse, and is also true regardless on whether you can see the eclipse or not. In addition to this, eclipses can affect certain individuals for up to 6 months if it occurs over a prominent place in their birth chart. To learn more about eclipses, please tap here.

The first eclipse takes place on October 25th 2022 from 4:58AM to 9:03AM EDT (October 25th 7:58PM to Oct 26th 12:03AM in Melbourne). This is a partial solar eclipse, visible in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and India:

This eclipse is taking place in a constellation called Swati Nakshatra, whose Shakti or energy is the power to scatter like the wind, and whose desire is to have the freedom to move throughout the worlds. Combined with the partial solar eclipse, which symbolizes our underlying consciousness (the Sun) being covered up by our emotions (the Moon), this eclipse has the potential to make our minds a little messy. So, I would definitely recommend against making any major decisions during the week of this eclipse.

The solution of all of this is also contained within the Nakshatra - Swati is ruled by Vayu, the god of the wind, and a nice way to channel his energies is by practicing breath work. By focusing on our breath, by stilling the energies and “internal wind” inside our body, we can easily find our inner consciousness and light, and repose in all its glory. Consequently, the period around this eclipse is a perfect time to use our breath to uncover the divine spark of awareness that we all have, and practice making it more prominent throughout our lives.

The second eclipse takes place on November 8th 2022 from 3:02AM to 8:57AM EST (Nov 8th 7:02PM to Nov 9th 12:57AM in Melbourne). This is a total lunar eclipse, visible in most of the world outside of Africa and Western Europe:

This eclipse is taking place in a constellation called Bharani Nakshatra, a constellation all about removing things that are no longer useful. The Shakti or energy of Bharani is the power to carry things away, and the constellation is ruled by Yama, the god of death, the celestial being that brings our souls to the next world after we die.

Because of all this symbolism, if you have anything in your life that is longer serving you, you can harness the energies that are present in this eclipse and let them go. A good example of this in action is Carl Jung, who has his Moon in Bharani - he used the energies of Bharani to help his patients let go of their suffering. With the light of the Sun partially obscured during this solar eclipse, you can see the darker areas of your energy body, and release and dissolve any emotions that are causing blocks inside you.

That’s it from me for now - I hope these eclipses bring you deeply spiritual and wonderful experiences,

Ken
